Linda Phillips

Linda is a highly trained and thoughtful, fully registered clinical psychologist who works with individual adults.

She has extensive training in psychological interventions such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, emotion focused therapy and client-centred approaches.

Linda has over 15 years experience working in a variety of roles (eg. as a counsellor, case manager & psychologist). She has worked with a broad spectrum of complex difficulties and in a range of settings.

Linda's approach is informed by the principles of mindfulness, psychodynamic theory and the latest neuroscience.

The Principles of Mindfulness

  • Cultivating non-judgemental awareness of whatever arises in the present moment.

  • The view that acceptance is a crucial step in change and transformation.

  • An aim of both mindful and psychodynamic approaches is for the individual to experience the relief and inner confidence that can gradually build as difficult feelings are worked through (approached, rather than avoided) with the support of a collaborative, understanding and respectful therapist.

Latest Neuroscience

  • Recent neuroscientific findings indicate that the experiences mentioned above actually create new neural pathways in the brain
