Linda Phillips
Bachelor of Science (Psychology). Master of Psychology (Clinical). Master of Child & Adolescent Welfare.
Linda is a highly trained and thoughtful, fully registered psychologist.
She has extensive training in evidence-based interventions such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.
Linda has over 15 years experience working in a variety of roles (eg. as a counsellor, case manager & psychologist) with children, parents and individuals. She has worked with a broad spectrum of difficulties and in a range of settings. Most recently Linda has worked as a psychologist with military personnel and their family members.
Linda's approach is to assist people understand themselves at a deeper level in order to transform symptoms and distress (known as ‘inside-out’ work / psychodynamic psychotherapy). This differs from addressing symptoms directly (known as ‘outside-in’ work), although sometimes a combination of both approaches is most helpful.
Linda is proud to provide pro bono professional debriefing to staff at VOICE, an amazing not-for-profit organisation that provides much-needed resources and support to marginalised people in Cambodia.
